Plaid, the duo of Andy Turner and Ed Handley, were (and remain) one of the most innovative acts in electronic music. Originally part of the Black Dog alongside Ken Downie, they went on to release groundbreaking albums on Warp Records that blended IDM, techno, and experimental electronica.
This event featured their “Truff Live Set” - likely promoting material from around their 2003 album “Spokes.” The inclusion of Mark Broom, a respected techno producer and DJ, and the Rub-a-Dub crew made this a memorable night of quality electronic music.
The Hive at Glasgow University was a key venue for the city’s electronic music scene in the early 2000s.
